Unless the Wheatland Township
Assessor lowers assessments across the board this year, I expect many folks will
be appealing their property assessments (those of you in Oswego Township may
wish to appeal as well, so feel free to participate. I have put the focus
on Wheatland Township because it is the place that is most out-of-touch with
reality in our zip code). Although I cannot assist everyone who wants
recent market data for their appeal, I may (note the use of the word 'may') be
able to provide higher level information based upon floor plans if the demand is
there.
If you are interested in the prospect of receiving some information about homes
similar to your home, please fill out this form. The Wheatland Township
Assessor expects to mail out notices of reassessment on August 20th. If
you have been reassessed, you will receive a notice within a few days from
then. If you do not receive a notice, then your assessment has not changed
and is the same as last year (although I can pretty well guarantee that your
property value has dropped during that time). Once I have a sense of how
many folks are looking for this information, I can determine what I will be able
to do.
