Many of you have noticed that I stopped publishing the Chronicle and that my moving truck is no longer around the community. Some of you got a postcard announcing that I had joined another agent's team. I've gotten a number of inquiries so I thought I would address it for those who are interested. My family moved to Austin, Texas, over the summer. We had previously lived in Texas (my wife is a native Texan) and so we knew what we were missing. We moved to Aurora 6 1/2 years earlier and, frankly, we finally had enough. Enough of the high property taxes, state income taxes, rising sales taxes, corruption, graft, etc., etc., etc. We also had no family in Chicagoland, whereas we now have family a ten minute drive away. I reactivated my Texas real estate broker's license and joined RE/MAX Capital City. While I certainly didn't hide the fact that I was leaving the area, I didn't make it well-known either. All of my available listings were turned over to another agent at RE/MAX of Naperville so most my signs disappeared. The moving truck hauled a bunch of my stuff to Texas and is now being rewrapped with Austin graphics (and some pretty cool ones, if I do say so myself). If you want to buy or sell a home, I can still help you. I know all about the Realtors who serve the area. I know who is good and who isn't. I can spare you the time of hiring the wrong person. Thank you for all of the support over the years. I enjoyed being able to lend a hand with garage sales, block parties, blood drives, and other community events. I thank you for reading the Chronicle. I started it when I discovered that we didn't have our own neighborhood newsletters and I'm happy to say it filled that void well. I tried to find someone to take it over, but no one was willing to take on the responsibility (and the cost). If you know someone who would be interested, please let me know. And, of course, a big thank you to all of my clients whose business made everything else possible. If you find yourself moving to Austin, Texas, I can help you find a great home in our fabulous city.
